If you're a buyer....Your Real Estate agent is either acting for you or the seller!
Make absolutely certain that you are represented by a Buyer's Agent.
3 Types of Real Estate Agents:
1. Listing (Seller's) Agents: people who list homes for sale. Usually their name is on the FOR SALE sign, or the so called Exclusive Listing. They work to get the best possible deal for the seller in all transactions.
* A listing agent or sellers agent is required by law to represent the best interests of the seller.
Note that Exclusive Listings are almost always listed on the Northern Illinois MLS (Multiple Listing Service) and all licensed Real Estate Agents have access to them.

2. New Home Salespeople: These agents work for the builder or developer. Usually they can be found in new model homes or condo/ loft models. They are usually restricted, by contract, to selling only the builder's developers homes.
3. Buyer's Agent: an agent that represent the buyer. Chicago Lofts™
will work with you as a Buyers Agent. Our services add absolutely no cost
to the property. When you buy a home, using our services, we will receive
50% of the commission (paid by the seller).
