Chicago real estate is being significantly influenced by the demands of “Generation Y.” The children of baby boomers are entering the Chicago real estate market for the first time, and are driving up demand for condos and lofts.
An article in the Detroit Free Press focused on a group of friends in their early twenties who all chose to buy Chicago lofts in the building at 1224 W. Van Buren St. on the near west side of Chicago. While most people of these age group choose to rent, more and more are opting to buy so as to begin to build equity on their Chicago real estate investment.
